Sheraton Kauai Resort will kick off its yearly fundraising for the 36th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk through RumFire Poipu Beach’s “You Dine, We Donate” program in February. Net proceeds for all food and beverage at RumFire’s sunset-view Table #53 will be donated to the non-profit event during the month-long fundraiser at the south shore’s hot spot for oceanfront dining.

Located within Sheraton Kauai Resort, the beachside RumFire Poipu Beach features Hawaiian-rooted cuisine with a global twist and exciting cocktails to ignite your palate. Guests dining at RumFire enjoy 180-degree oceanfront views from all of its 240 seats. Facing the beautifully landscaped Ocean Courtyard and inviting fire pits, Table #53 is a private booth with a prime vantage for viewing Kauai’s fiery sunsets. Kauai Juice Co. opened their store on Jan. 7. You may be aware of their Kauai Kombucha or Kale Chips, but now you can get single servings of cold-pressed juice, or juice packs for a cleanse. You can also buy glass straws or a kombucha starter kit. If you’re not familiar with juice cleanses, they cover that extensively on the Kauai Juice Co. website. There’s also a lengthy explanation on what kombucha tea is. Visit them at their kitchen shop, in the Dragon Building in Kapaa to get any of their delicious and potent, cold pressed juices, medicinal shots, cold brewed coffee, nut milks, and all flavors of Kombucha. Our next Kauai Culinary Tour is Friday, Feb. 8. Led by local experts, our tour offers an intimate glimpse into the Kauai culinary scene. We start with a farm tour and learn about exotic fruit grown on Kauai. At the Kauai Marriott Resort, we join executive chef Guy Higa for an outdoor cooking demonstration and gourmet, four-course lunch. A Culinary Romp Through Paradise

We are gathered for the inaugural Tasting Kauai Culinary Tour. A day-long culinary romp through paradise where we’ll be sampling Kauai’s best, from farm to fork. The day is packed with an authentic taste of Kauai and includes a tour of Ein Rogel Farm, lunch at the Kauai Marriott Resort, and cocktails with rum from the Koloa Rum Company, made by mixologist Dave Power.

Under a covered awning in the wet morning air, we gaze at a large display of freshly cut tropical fruit. “I always tell people to have a light breakfast because when you come on the tour, you’ll be eating a lot!” says Jesse Schwartz, the guide for Ein Rogel Farm.

The 26-acre sustainable exotic fruit farm is nestled in the Kahuna Valley. There are 80 varieties of tropical fruit on the estate and the five-million-year-old Makaleha Mountain range provides the trees with pristine spring water.
