Learn about Sustainability in Kaua’i
Join us for a day’s adventure with a friendly local guide on the north side of Kaua’i and learn about the island’s sustainability goals to increase local food production, distribution, and responsible consumption. Be a part of achieving this goal through hands-on in the farm with local farmers and eating locally-sourced cuisine.
Learning about local food production from planting to harvesting Mālama ‘āina at Kilauea Community Garden Center:
- Harvest in a local farm with local farmers
- A Farm-to-Table Lunch experience
- A tour of Slim’s Growers Farm
- Taking home fresh produce
Not too long ago, Hawaiʻi was once a fully sustainable island nation capable of eating sustainably from the ʻāina (land). Today, an estimated 85% of what we eat is imported into the islands.
