Explore Lihue Farmers Market
Koloa farmers market is a smallish market held every Thursday at noon in the parking lot of Koloa Ball Park. It is a County of Kauai sponsored Sunshine Market, so only produce is sold by approximately 20 vendors.
There’s another farmers market in Koloa, which is one of my favorite places to spend an afternoon. Every Wednesday at 3:3o p.m., The Shops at Kukuiula hosts the Kauai Culinary Market. The plantation-style mall is filled with clothes stores, art galleries and restaurants.
Farmers and food artisans line the lavishly landscaped outdoor walkway, while Hawaiian music is played by a local band in the courtyard. Fine-dining restaurants serve samples from their menu and you can watch a cooking demonstration at 4 p.m. in the beer and wine garden.
I love this market so much, I made it the ending of our Kauai Food Tour – South Shore. After meeting chefs, getting a “backstage” pass into their kitchens and sampling their food, you can stay and enjoy the cooking demo or shop.
