Typically, tomatoes, summer squash, melons and bell peppers are hard to grow on Kauai. The fruit fly “stings” them, borrows inside, and lays eggs. The only evidence is a small, inward dent. Writing about Kauai`s farmers every week for MidWeek Kauai, and providing video, text and photos for the Kauai County Farm Bureau‘s Kauai Grown campaign, has us visiting up to three farms every week.
